Welcome to the website of Hought Wahl, Woodturner

As you can see, this site is under construction! Please bear with us as we load the content.

Right now, I have a good inventory of functional and artistic turnings.  I will be posting samples of these.

As you can imagine, the fall season is the high sellling season for crafts and I am participating in a number of shows as well as  a new gallery opening.  Items you will see may be representative - - - send me an email if I can help you find what you would like!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hought grew up in Clayton (Thousand Islands) New York. He attended Cornell Mechanical Engineering School and was a jet pilot in the Navy.
Retiring from IBM after some 36 years, Hought fell in love with wood turning a few years ago.  His passion is shaping a discarded chunk of local wood into a functional or artistic piece for others to enjoy, enabling that tree to live on - for generations.
 He works in his garage/workshop in East Cobb, Marietta, Georgia. He is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and the Georgia Association of Woodturners
He scavenges much of his wood from hurricanes, windstorms, development, and natural causes. Thus much of the wood is green or wet when turned and may change shape as it dries, yielding a natural and pleasing alteration to the shape of the item.
Hought turns many interesting objects which can be found in galleries, on his website, or at an occasional art show. These include bowls, vases, hollow vessels, urns, platters, plates, bottle stoppers and coasters, pens, boxes, pepper mills, etc.  He also does custom work.
